This year our big trip starts off with a jaunt up to New Hampshire for the Portsmouth Airshow, June 28-July 1.
We went with our friends,Deb and Charlie and we felt that the airshow, while having more than adequate representation by the regulars, Sean D Tucker, Golden Knights, etc. lacked the multitude of performers we were accustomed to in the past.
They had Jane Wickett, a well known wing walker that we had seen at Osh Kosh. She did some great stunts such as walking on the top of the wing. Then she crawled between the wings, and did some crazy things like hanging from her heels as the plane roared overhead. She finished her routine by staying on the top surface of a wing as her pilot did 360's. What you see in this picture is Jane on the bottom of the bottom wing while her pilot passes by upside down! Looks like great fun!!
Deb did get us great seats, and the Blue Angels were superb as always. Deb, and Charlie's son Tim is going into Air Force pilot school when he graduates from ROTC at UCONN. (I think I have all the terms correct there). This Airshow was a precursor for us, to the OshKosh airshow we plan to attend later this month. We kicked around in a very nice campground, and in NH beaches the rest of this weekend. Then said good bye, sand took off for the mid west
